Fort Hill Farms has been “active through three generations in over 70 years.  We thrive on sustainability and educating people about local farming.  With over 200 milking cows, our family is very proud that the milk and cream are used in the production of Cabot Cheese and The Farmer’s Cow milk and ice cream.

In the mid 1990’s, Fort Hill Farms Gardens and Ice Creamery was established and opened to the public.  With the beauty of nature and sense of tranquility, visitors can relax and absorb themselves in the peace and tranquility the colorful gardens exude.  View all the breath-taking views.

Kristin Orr combines her two loves:  Lavender and milk from her cows.  Not only is Fort Hill Farms proud to be part of the Cabot Farm Family and The Farmer’s Cow, but Kristin also painstakingly grows organic lavender.

Kristin’s lavender contains no pesticides nor chemicals.  So they are edible!  She diligently and delicately cares for her lavender.  At harvest time, she gathers them in bunches and hangs them to dry.  Walking into her shop fills the visitor with the wonderful, calming fragrance of lavender.

Fort Hill Farms

Lavender Pond Farm - In February of 2014, we were fortunate to acquire the property that is now Lavender Pond Farm. Encompassing nearly 25 glorious acres with beautiful fields, expansive outbuildings and the freshest, fresh water pond we’ve ever seen, it was a dream come true for our family. We knew this was our opportunity to live the words of Miss Rumphius and honor the memory of a very special lady. We broke ground in June of 2014 and with an initial planting of 9000 lavender plants, haven’t looked back.
