Bekemeyer Farm is a super source for fresh produce grown through hydroponic and natural methods in Orlando. Plus, an ideal spot for some strawberry picking too.
“Great-Grandpa & Great-Grandma Bekemeyer converted 20 acres of pine trees and palmettos into a farm and citrus grove using their mule and plow. Now with the 5th generation coming of age, we transitioned it from a citrus grove that was ravaged by the citrus greening disease into a vibrant U-Pick & Farm Stand offering strawberries, citrus, peaches, and a variety of fresh vegetables. Join us in our journey of transformation and enjoy the freshness of locally grown goodness at Bekemeyer Family Farm,”

We came to get some fresh air with the family and the grandkids enjoyed it but the strawberries were pretty much picked over so be sure to get there early or later in the season.
After a pleasant drive from Longwood through changing scenery, we arrived & were greeted and instructed by a family member on where to find the best of the fruit, and how to pick it.
I highly recommend for all ages.. We drove an hour so we arrived late (noon) and the good strawberries were picked over by that point so they weren’t worth the price tag of $7.00 per pound!
Space is also very small and might not be easy to maintain social distance when crowded, there were not many ripe berries even though we reached well on time.
