At Huffman and Hawbaker Berry Farm, they aim to provide the best possible U-Pick strawberry experience. The season usually starts in late May and lasts for a few weeks. They say that the earlier the better, as the cold spring weather can push the start of the season.
“Welcome to Huffman & Hawbaker Farms, a Hoosier family farm located in Tippecanoe County, near Lafayette, IN. Family has been a key component to the success of the farm and continues with today’s fifth generation owners and operators. Although change has had an integral influence throughout the generations, our commitment to being good stewards of God’s blessings and to practice sustainable and environmentally responsible farming methods has not changed. The same tradition and focus, as indicated in the mission statement, continues today.”

Key Insights:
Very friendly, family owned farm.
My fingers were beautifully berry-stained with these ripe, fragrant strawberries!
They were perfect for my pie filling and jam (as well as the small batch I ate on the drive home).
I was thankful they accept cards because I picked more than I realized and didn't bring enough cash!
Big operation in Buck Creek area. They have land on E800N ,N750E,E400n & several other places. The farm owns abut 3,000 acres. They also own land on 750N north of West Lafayette. Most of the equipment is John Deere. We have seen a John Deere 9530T,9520,8970,8640,8330,8320,7810,7800,4640,4250 and a red IH 966 hydro in their farming operations. This farms also owns 2 Peterbilt tractors,a International tractor and a John Deere sprayer and combine..
