Maynes’s Tree Farm

• With a new born (two weeks old) and a potty training toddler, it was not fair to sit in the car for 40 mins plus just to pay and leave.
• Maybe they’d rather have the highly commercialized charge-per-car and reservation-only environment of many fake “farms”, especially a well-known competitor in nearby Montgomery County.
• But on the first day this year (2021), cars were lined up at 7:30 for a 9 am opening - so many the State Police were concerned about traffic blocking Buckeystown Pike.
• And as bad as some others make it sound, my family (with 3 cars and 3 families with kids ranging from 8 months to 3 years plus a college age niece) rode on a hayride to the trees, found and cut four trees, got them on our cars (several boys available to help - don’t forget to give them a tip), waited in line to exit and paid in a little over 2 1/2 hours.
• We’ll be back to Maynes as long as they have the kind of trees we want (we’ve needed 10-12 foot in the past and this wouldn’t have been the best farm for that this year).
