Brouwer Berries is a family run farm, that has been operating since 1998. The owners are as passionate about teaching the next generation about growing fresh produce as they are about providing their berries to the local community.
“Sweetness comes from sunshine, so watch the weather. A few days of sun, and all our berries are sweet. A few days of clouds and rain, and their taste is more tart.
For size, we grow 11 kinds, and they are different shapes and sizes. The first picking is the king, which is the largest, but there aren’t as many of them. After that comes the queen and her court, which grow in good clusters. We always give you the best row that is available when you arrive, but that can change by the hour and day. ”

Key Insights:
Quit growing my own berries because it easy picking and I am done no quack grass and thistle to deal with.
Even when I had trouble early on with the online ordering, Sarah figured out a way to make it happen for me.. My kids and I have started going to Brouwer Berries over the past few years, and we love it, look forward to doing that every summer!
Love how their farm invests in the community and building relationships along with growing amazing strawberries.. Brouwer Berries has become a summer tradition for my family visits, and today was another wonderful experience (and, they're open on the 4th of July).
In addition to the simple joy of picking your own fruit, the Brouwers have an idyllic little farm with chickens, kittens, miniature goats, bunnies, a maze, tractor rides...it's the kind of farm that makes a city girl dream of leaving the corporate life and moving to the country, ala "Green Acres".
Thank you, Sarah and the Brouwer family, for giving us so many wonderful memories -- and many many bellies full of the best strawberries ever..
