Be sure to visit Middleton Berry Farm for your strawberries this season.
“The farm is situated on 40 idyllic acres in Ortonville, Michigan. We only cultivate 6 acres, as we grow what we can hand weed. The rest is left natural and sustains a rich population of wildlife. We have acres of woods and marshland that are left untouched. Our proudest contribution to the land is 6 acres of wild pollinator preserve. We’ve planted native wildflower and grass species and leave it in peace for bees, butterflies and bats.
We are an entirely you-pick farm. We do not pre-harvest any crops for sale. Our customers get the best of everything (no seconds) and the satisfaction of harvesting their own food.”
Other you-pick crops include red raspberries, heirloom tomatoes, pumpkins, flowers and honey.

Key Insights:
It’s normal to have to call a u-pick place first to check hours and availability before going… It shouldn’t come as a surprise to people but I guess it still does.
Strawberries are naturally a very small berry anyway, people get so used to those giant ones at the store and forget that they’re not supposed to be like that at all!!!
It was obvious from the moment I arrived on the property that they run their berry farm like a well oiled machine.
looking forward to going back for more strawberries, then raspberries end of August and the flowers to follow.
Their reputation is well deserved, as one of the remaining bastions of local, non-industrialized agriculture in this area.. It’s 2022, update your website with accurate times and dates.
